A Little Pain, $400 Gain

J and I got to be part of a research study at the hospital this week. They stick you with needles, take a unit of blood and give you money. In all, it is supposed to take 2 to 2.5 hours. Lucky (hmmm if you call this lucky) for me I got to leave after only an hour and fifteen b/c they couldn't find my radial artery. 50 minutes of prodding and 2 anesthesiologists later they gave up on me. Sweet.

So did you get paid even though they didn't find your radial artery?

Yes! Since I already had two lines in my arm and they had stuck me so many times in the wrist trying to place the a-line they said I made it to the full payment point. I really do wish I could have been part of the research though.

Tringali Family asked the same question I had. I am glad you still got paid! That's a lot of dough. :o) Too bad you couldn't actually participate in the study. Hope you are well! Love Auntie Trina
